What is CBD?

CBD is the abbreviation for “cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is one of the 113 substances from the hemp of the cannabis plant. CBD is also one of the two most interesting substances. The other substance is the psychoactive THC, which is what causes a high feeling.

The body also produces cannabinoids itself, called the endocannabinoid system. This system is involved in many bodily processes such as regulating your appetite and energy balance, metabolism and sleep. Endocannabinoids also appear to play a role in a variety of psychological processes.

What is THC?

THC is the abbreviation for Tetrahydrocannabinol. Like CBD, THC is a cannabinoid found in small amounts in the hemp plant. The major difference with CBD is that THC is a psychoactive substance. This means that when used, the user will experience a ”high” feeling. OCHO Amsterdam ensures that there is no THC in your CBD oil. In most countries, the sale of THC is prohibited and can only be obtained by prescription from pharmacies.

What is the endocannabinoid system?

Like the hemp plant, the human body also produces cannabinoids. This is done by the endocannabinoid system. This system is responsible for various processes in our body such as: mood, the immune system, appetite, sleep, the nervous system and pain perception, among others. CBD works emphatically as a stimulant and complement to our own endocannabinoid system.

What is CBD oil?

CBD is extracted from the flower and leaf of the hemp plant. Next, the CBD is dissolved in a natural oil such as hemp seed oil, coconut oil olive oil or grape seed oil. The result is a completely plant-based and natural product sold mostly in the form of oils or capsules.

What is THC oil?

THC oil or cannabis oil is made from THC. Without a prescription, cannabis oil is an illegal product. The oil will give the user a ”high” feeling.

CBD is 100% legal in the Netherlands. OCHO Amsterdam ensures that there is no 0.0% THC in your CBD oil so that when using our products, you never have to worry about the results of a drug test for traffic or sports, for example.

Is CBD addictive?

No mental or physical dependence occurs when using CBD.

What is the difference between Pure and Full Spectrum CBD?

Pure (isolate) CBD products contain only CBD as the active ingredient. Full Spectrum CBD products contain all natural cannabinoids. At OCHO Amsterdam, there is 0.0%THC in our Full Spectrum CBD products. Also, our Full Spectrum products are rich in terpenes and flavonoids. Because these constituents work together, the ”entourage effect” occurs. This indicates that the different substances work more powerfully together than when taken separately.

How do I know what dose of CBD to take?

CBD is available in different concentrations. When choosing the right product, it is important to realize that everyone reacts differently to CBD. The recommended amount is always listed on our packages. For first-time use, it is advisable to start with a low concentration of 2% or 5%. To give CBD a chance, we recommend trying it for at least 2 weeks.

Does CBD affect appetite?

CBD does not directly affect appetite. However, the combination of CBD and terpenes can potentially influence this. Try our product
. CBD’s primary role is to support and balance the mental and physical processes in our bodies. Eating behavior can be influenced by our mental state. Do you eat more when anxious or depressed? CBD can potentially alleviate these symptoms, resulting in less eating.

Does CBD cause side effects?

Because CBD is extracted from the hemp plant and it is often equated with the cannabis plant, it is important to realize that CBD does not intoxicate or give a ”high” feeling. Research shows that CBD has little or no effect on important functions such as heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature. Can I use CBD during pregnancy?

How does CBD work?

How do you use CBD?

Our oils come with a convenient pipette. This allows you to properly measure the number of drops. We recommend dripping 5 drops of the CBD oil under the tongue and swallowing it after 60 seconds. In this way, the CBD is quickly absorbed by the mucous membranes under the tongue. Also, there is no harm in mixing the CBD oil directly with your food or drink. Keep in mind that the (CBD) oil does not mix with water-based drinks.

Can I cook with CBD?

CBD can certainly be applied in the kitchen. The simplest way is to mix a few drops of CBD oil through your food. It is also possible to mix CBD with a fatty substance such as coconut oil or olive oil and then bake with it. When doing so, be careful not to reach tempratures above 160 degrees Celsius. Above this temprature the CBD evaporates and, of course, that will be a waste.

Will CBD make me feel "high"?

CBD does not produce a psychoactive effect. OCHO Amsterdam’s CBD contains 0.0% THC. So becoming high on our products is not possible.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are valuable molecules formed in thousands of plant species. So too in the hemp and cannabis plant. Terpenes often have a strong scent, provide protection for the plant and keep it healthy. It has recently been discovered that terpenes may also have many useful properties for the functioning of the human body. Like cannabinoids, terpenes also influence our endo cannabinoid system, which can positively affect certain body functions. Our

How should I choose an appropriate CBD product?

When using CBD for the first time, we recommend starting with a low concentration. You can always build these up. Average concentrations can be used preventively. When a powerful result is desired, you can switch to a higher concentration of CBD. If you can’t figure it out, we always recommend consulting a family doctor.

Will CBD affect drug test results?

In drug testing in traffic or sports, THC is tested. OCHO Amsterdam’s products contain 0.0% THC. As a result, the use of our CBD oil does not affect such tests.
