Omega-3 Algae Oil

At my annual check-up, I was told that my levels were "just" okay, but that I needed to keep an eye on them. That stuck with me. I don't eat much fish, so I started taking these omega-3s. I've been taking them for about four months now, two every morning with my breakfast. At my last check-up, my GP was satisfied, and I finally felt like I was doing something about it instead of just waiting.

I took fish oil for years because it's "good for you," but those burps… I could taste fish all morning. Eventually, I just stopped taking it. I tried this one because it's derived from algae, and I really don't taste anything at all. No aftertaste, no burps. That might sound like a small thing, but it's the reason I'm actually sticking with it now.

To be fair: the first few weeks I didn't notice anything and doubted whether it was worth it. I had read that omega-3 takes time, so I persevered. After a month or two, I noticed that I just felt a bit fitter, not spectacularly so, but consistently. I've now started my third bag.

At first, I thought €25 was quite a lot for a bag. Until I did the math: it’s over a month for less than a euro a day. My previous omega-3 was cheaper, but I had to take four capsules a day and it smelled like fish. For me, this is more than worth the money. 

I have been eating plant-based for years and knew I was lacking omega-3, but fish oil was not an option for me. It’s great that this comes directly from algae, which is where fish get it from anyway. Good for me and no fish have to die for it. I also consider the paper bag instead of a plastic jar a plus.
